Ms. Sandra Kay Cooper Moss, age 63, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday afternoon August 10, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Kay was born July 1, 1949 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Earnest H. Cooper, Sr. and Stella Bearden Cooper. She was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Luther and Maggie Nesbit, grandchildren, Caitlynne Moss and Cameron Moss, brothers, Earnest Cooper, Jr., Charles Cooper and David Nesbit and a brother-in-law, Junior Mathis.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mackil Bailey; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Amy Moss, Steve Moss and Rhonda Hill, Jeremy and Jessica Moss, Keith and Shea Hudgins; brothers, Donnie and Shirley Cooper, Jerry Cooper; sisters, Yvonne Tuck, Jean Mathis and Bobbie Wise; sister-in-law, Pat Cooper; special friend she thought of as a brother, Walker Branson; sixteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Sandra Kay Cooper Moss will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Scott Winters and Reverend Scott Parrish officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Elrod (Welcome Hill) Cemetery with Tyler Moss, Isaac Moss, Matthew Moss, Austin Moss, Jimmy Powell and Dustin Montgomery serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
