Greer, SC---Spurgeon Ballenger Brian, 72, of Greer, SC, but formerly of Kingsport, TN. passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Windsor House. Born in Inman, SC on February 8, 1940, he was the son of the late Mooney S. and Idelle (Ballenger) Brian and was the loving husband of Sallye (Jordan) Brian having celebrated 52 happy years of marriage. Mr. Brian was a graduate of Chapman High School, Clemson University and the University of Tennessee and worked for Eastman Chemical Company for more than 30 years as a Senior Training Executive. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Burnsview Baptist Church in Greer, SC. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Rhonda Sue Brian of Greer, SC, Mark R. Brian (Robin) of Anderson, SC and Michele M. Fischer (Justin) of Burlington, CT; one sister, Pearla Mae Perry (Robert) of Woodruff, SC and two grandchildren, Olivia and Lauren Fischer of Burlington, CT and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Adele Brian. Funeral services will be held in the Seawright Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 13, 2012 with Rev. Tim Huckaby officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman. Memorial donations maybe made to: Alzheimer's Association, SC Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd. Suite L, , Anderson, SC 29621 The family is at the home, 321 Werrington Ct., Greer, SC 29651.
