Stanley L. Smith, 82, of Salisbury died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Salisbury he was the son of the late Horice Huffington Smith and Alverta Livingston Smith Williams.
Along with his wife Peggy, he owned Stan Smith Inc. Appliances for 30 years until his retirement in 1994. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1951-1954. Stan will always be remembered for his passion of the outdoors and conservation of wildlife, especially his love for preserving the natural state of our environment.
He is survived by a son, Wayne E. Smith and his wife Lisa of Ocean City; daughter, Linda Barriocanal and her husband Jose of Seaford; brother, James R. Smith and his wife Judy of Ashville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Stan to the Wicomico County Humane Society, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
