Steven Bodkin , 64, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Steven served in the Army National Guard and worked as a Locomotive Engineer with Norfolk and Southern Rail Road for 22 years, retiring in 2009 and also a self employed contractor He was the President of the Men's Auxiliary VFW Post 2457, Lifetime member of the New Haven Conservation Club and Chaplain of the BLE-T Union. " Steve was devoted to his family, loved to entertain, and could never say no to anyone who needed him".. Surviving are his wife, Renee Bodkin; father, Edward Bodkin of New Haven; sons, Michael (Vickie) Bodkin, Jeff Bodkin, Chad Bodkin all of Fort Wayne and Heath Bodkin of New Haven; daughter, Jodi Reed of Muskogee, OK; brother, Larry (Pam) Bodkin of Fort Wayne; sisters, Jan (Lee) Owens of Fort Wayne, Rita (Jim) Obergfell and Evelyn (Dave) Foust both of New Haven; grandchildren, Bailey, Garrett, Cassidy, Braydon, Riley, Sophia, Ava and Isabella; great grandson, Taj . Steven was preceded in death by mother, Kathryn Bodkin and sister, Deloris Bodkin. Funeral Service is Friday, 10:00 am, August 10, 2012 at - D. O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home 1140 Lake Ave with calling one hour prior. Rev. Mark Cleveland officiating. Calling also Thursday, August 09, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
