Susan R. Doherty (Nee Funk) Entered Eternal Life on Sunday, August 12, 2012, age 43. Beloved wife of John. Loving mother of Mike (13), Kate (11) and Kyra (7). Cherished daughter of Tom and the late Janet Funk. Treasured sister of John (Sharlene) Funk and Michael Funk. Dear daughter-in-law of Joan and Brian Doherty. Susan is survived by many other relatives and friends. Susan graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School and received her bachelor's degree from Northwestern University. She was a consultant with Accenture Consulting in Chicago before dedicating herself to raising her family. Sue's faith and relationship with Christ were the foundation from which she drew strength, love and compassion. She shared this faith with her family, friends and her children. Sue was very active; she loved the water and was a passionate synchronized swimmer. She also enjoyed running, playing tennis, music and reading. She was a volunteer with the Junior League, Elm Grove Women's Club and The Blood Center of Wisconsin. Most importantly Sue loved spending time with her family. Memorials to the University of Chicago Medical Center may be made in Sue's name online at supportucmc.uchicago.edu. Please reference Dr. Ravi Salgia in support of his ongoing research for lung cancer. Alternatively, memorials are also appreciated for the Blood Center of Wisconsin, Attn: Foundation Office, P.O. Box 2178 Milwaukee, WI 53201-9772.
