William "Cubby" Culbertson passed away peacefully at home in his sleep July 16, 2012. Born to Joseph J. and Virginia C. Egan on September 30, 1946 at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He was truly loved by his family: Brother Joe Culbertson II, Charlene Culbertson, Joe Culbertson III, Phaeylan Culbertson, Willow Culbertson, Rainy Culbertson, Savannah Culbertson and Henry Culbertson Vargas, Breezy Culbertson, Luna Culbertson Darlington, River Culbertson Vargas, Winter Culbertson Vargas, Cathy Culbertson, Zoe Culbertson, Beth, Bill, Cody, and Dylan Gray, Katherine and Dick Fischer, Joanne, Jim, Jimmy, Kate and Melissa Welsh. He was loved by his many long-time friends that were family to him. He will be missed by us all and remembered in our hearts for his wicked humor, music and poetry. We still cannot believe he won't roll up and insult us any minute. He could lift anyone's spirit with a crafty jab straight to your heart! And piss you off. He had an incredible capacity for compassion in one's time of need and an enormous space in his heart; he was charismatic and adventurous. He had a deep love of art, family and friends, travel, mysticism, riding horses and The Brandywine River. He was the "King of Chinese Arithmetic and had it figured in his bones. He never spoke in words, only in tones…" (you really couldn't understand him anyway unless you spoke Cubbanese). He went into the night with "The Wisdom of a Crow" (got off easy, the foxy jackrabbit!) and now we must "all adjust our lenses" without his physical presence.
We love and miss our brother, our Dad, and our friend.
